Welcome, friends, to Mockleberry Lane,
Where laughter and merriment are one and the same.
The children are happy, the parents are free,
There’s singing and playing as far as you see.
There’s colours and music wherever you go,
And there’s always a friend or companion you know.
That’s how this village mustered its fame
And everyone heard about Mockleberry Lane.
Welcome, friends, to the party at last!
Relax, have some cake, this place is a blast!
We’re festive, we’re giving, we’re clean and well read
We nurture the growing and make sure they’re well fed.
We've inspired great minds to many a task,
The afternoon sun had drifted slowly behind the thick, grey clouds in the Eres-Tiyan sky. The birds had yet to come from their hiding and, despite some normalcy returning to the school, Saeren Academy was still muted and cold. The students slowly came around as the events of the winter festival were slowly forgotten. But there was still a lot on the shoulders of those who remembered.
There had been a death at the school. And on the same night, a child had been turned. Were the two related? Sarz, the school’s headmaster didn't believe they were, but that niggling of doubt was always there. Whoever was pulling the strings here obviously
I am indefinite, as opposed to the finite. And within me lay seven dormant souls, each of them crying. Their tears are a stain on the collar as they are slowly being martyred to the Gods. It is a tragedy. It is a waste of life essence in time, but I remained humbled for it.
But my eyes are awash with the sins of the thousands that lay before me. This is the real loss, the real event that has prevented anyone's transcendence. And as time slowly slips to that further reach, beyond reason and comprehension, I find myself falling further down that well; further into obscurity and deeper into the well that is myself.
I am no longer a sole man. I
A masquerade ball. Such a simple thing and yet it had been a great morale booster for the school. Such simple novelties that allowed breathing room, particularly in the wake of recent events surrounding a certain young student.
Tonight the air was ripe and fresh as Maynard walked across the courtyard and out towards the further edges of the grounds. With the students' game now in full swing the hunters needed more watching as, just by watching, one could see them itching to pick off some of the weaker ones. And oh, how the smell of hunters irritated him and their presence was very insulting.

There was still a lot of work that needed to get done before the school would be ready to open again for the semester. However, with his usual dedication and ability to put his head down and get on with his work, Sarz had slowly whittled down the workload and now there wasn't much left to get done. Just a few more student admissions and some other general class work.
He yawned loudly. He had to cut back on his allowance of sleeping, much to Toya's growing annoyance, but sometimes sacrifices had to be made in order to get things done. He sipped a seemingly bottomless cup of coffee and pulled over some more papers.

Forget Me, Romance (A Courtship Month Tale)
"I can see it; you still love him, don't you?"
The truth can hurt. Sometimes it's overwhelming, taking you over totally with a rigid surface that becomes who you are. Completely defining you as a person.
"Of course you would deny it, that's just the kind of person that you are."
Utterances and pleas couldn't save me now. Raising my gaze from the floor, I looked my friend, my partner, the defining part of myself in the eyes. This horrible truth that I had been denying for so long had to come out. Some things are long due to be said.
"Help me," I said, my voice barely above a whisper, "help me, please."

"In times of crisis," Master Il
It had been a very long time setting up for the festival, and now that everything was up and running, Sarz finally had a chance to relax. He sighed and leaned back in his chair, resting his head back in his hands.
The door opened to his office and he looked up as Maynard walked inside.
"Mister Headmaster," he said with a grin, "little Soma is here to speak with you."
"Then let him in," Sarz said through narrowed eyes, "and get the hell back to work."
Grinning lightly, Maynard bowed himself out of the office and stepped aside as Somaso came in after him.
Sharing a quick nod in greeting, Somaso sat opposite his desk and sighed lightly. He

It had been a long night of studying for the summer. Amour, distraught after failing his classes, had come to heavily blaming his sister for it. After much effort, he had finally managed to drag her in to study with him.
This morning had an air of new hope. He stretched as he awoke and was not surprised the Amaira had left in the night; they often fell asleep together when they spent their late nights studying, or spending time together. She was usually always off by the time he awoke, out causing whatever trouble she could for everyone that wasn't herself.
He got out of bed and wandered over to his closet, reaching in for something to wear
The halls seemed larger and much quieter this time of the year. Most of the students spent their spare time studying and there seemed to be a general consensus to let them have a degree of silence. Normally, this was Somaso's favourite time of the school year. His students were quiet and focused and in between lessons he would relax and play his guitar.
This year was different, however. The empty halls seemed emptier, knowing that Oniko wasn't around. The young meu meu was the only thing on his mind these days, but now whenever he turned a corner or closed his eyes all he could see was that kiss.
Perhaps it was the best thing. A student sho

I've always wanted to be a great writer and I suppose I am finally trying to set myself up with some more ways of getting my work noticed. So, I have an account on everyone of those networking sites above (which makes sense, since they all link to my profile on them). It's also why I decided to change my name on here to Somaso, so that there is some uniformity in what you can see going on.
So, if I have the rare chance of having someone following me here that uses those sites more than this, I am atempting to set myself up as using those more than this. As I see it, Facebook for collabarating, twitter for short messages to everyone, 43 Thing
I've recently started looking reading and studying writing and story structure somewhat seriously again. So, to try and get a contrast of what I can as I go through it, I have decided to try and write at least one short story a week while I am doing this. Unfortunately for my friends from Saeren and Planetary Revolution, these may not always equate to things that can be found within those groups, but I hope you at least want to give what I write a chance and check some of them out.
